Affordable Senior Portraits

Rockin’ Photos is now taking orders for senior portrait sessions

Portrait Sessions

Session fees are in addition to the cost of your portrait order. They cover the time taking your portraits and the preparation/presentation of the proofs. Session fees must be paid prior to the photo session. Payments can be made through the secure GOOGLE CHECKOUT link on the bottom of this page. Please contact me through the Contact Jerry for Appointments or Questions link below, which will open your email program, PRIOR to any purchase in order to set up your session date & time. Please include an Evening phone number. Session fees do not apply toward your final order.

Most of our photo shoots are NOT taken in a studio setting. Photos will be taken on location at one of several parks in and around Houston.

I believe studio portraits are just not Natural, and end up looking stiff. I want your portraits to capture your personality. Do you love your pet? Have a special hobby? Are you a Sports fan? Do you play a musical instrument? Bring your personality to the photo session, and make a senior portrait that IS uniquely you!

To keep costs down, I use a web based format to present your proofs. This also allows you to be able to view your proofs, usually within 24 to 48 hours of the photo session. Proofs have not been color corrected or retouched. They may appear lighter or darker than the final prints.

Silver Session - $50

60 minute photo session with unlimited poses and up to 3 outfits. Please have your hair and makeup ready when you get to the session location in order to optimize your session time allotment. Your time allotment will begin once you and the photographer both arrive at the session location.

Gold Session - $80

An additional 30 minute time slot can be added to the Silver session time for an additional $30. With this additional session time purchase, you will get unlimited poses AND outfit changes for the entire 90 minute session.

Photo Packages

Great news! I've teamed up with SmugMug & EZ Prints for our high quality photo printing partner. All photos are printed on KODAK Professional photo paper to assure long life and lasting color. As an added bonus, by switching to EZ Prints for my printing needs, YOU get lower prices, more options, and shipping directly to your door. You aren't limited to certain predetermined packages for your portraits. You can select wallets, 5x7, 8x10, or 16x20 prints in Glossy, Matte, or Luster finishes. They also offer 11x14, 16x20, and 20x30 CANVAS prints, either rolled or mounted. This is something I've been trying to get from other photographic print companies for some time. Plus, where other portrait packages confined your choices to 1 or 2 photos per package, with EZ Prints, you can use a different photo for each of your prints (except wallets, which come in groups of 4).

Photo CD w/all usable images (with min. $300 order) $100

Photo CD w/all usable images (with min. $200 order) $150

Photo CD w/all usable images (with min. $100 order) $200

Photo CD w/all usable images (with NO print purchase) $250

Photo Retouching

With photo retouching, we can remove almost any blemishes, scars, stray hairs around the head, lighten dark areas under the eyes, and color correct the images you select for your prints. We can also apply “soft focus” techniques to give your photos more of that “Glamour” look. We do general photo retouching on all photos before they are sent to the print lab. Extended photo retouching is available at $10 per image.

We're always on the lookout for new and interesting locations for photo sessions, so if you know of a location you think would be a great site for a photo session, please feel free to let us know.

WHAT TO WEAR You have a closet full of clothes, but you're not sure what you should wear for your portrait session. Well, here are a few ideas that will help you choose the BEST clothes to wear in your Senior Portraits.

  • Choose a variety of outfits. It's a good idea to include both casual and formal outfits in your senior portraits. You choose a few, and let your mom choose a few, that way everyone is happy.

  • Your face should be the focal point of your portraits. Long sleeve solids or very subtle prints are usually the most flattering in portraits.

  • Medium to dark clothes look the best on dark backgrounds.

  • Medium to light colors look the best on lighter backgrounds.

  • Earth tones are best for outdoor portraits, which is where most of our photo sessions are done.

  • Traditional styles will stand the test of time and keep your portrait looking fresh for years to come.

  • Some poses will show your shoes, so don't forget to bring shoes and socks for each outfit that you plan to.

  • Busy patterns and loud colors can be very distracting in your portraits. Avoid large & bold patterns that might tend to draw attention away from your face.

PROPS CAN HELP to show your personality and record the types of activities you are involved in. Be sure to bring some of your own props to your portrait session. Here are some ideas of what you might bring:

  • Musical Instrument

  • Leather Jacket

  • Letter Jacket

  • Uniform

  • Sports Equipment

  • Hats

  • Stuffed Animals

  • Favorite Pets (talk to me before hand about pets. some location I shoot in do not.

  • Trophies

FINAL TIPS:

  • Simplicity is the key to a successful portrait.

  • Long sleeve dresses and shirts are recommended.

  • Coordinate your outfit from head to toe.

  • Darker clothes minimize body size.

  • Keep the tonal range of clothing in the same group, don't mix lights & darks in the same outfit.

  • To assure a successful portrait, it is best to bring along several additional clothing choices and let the photographer help you choose.

  • Don't forget your jewelry, especially your class ring.

  • You should wear your hair in your regular style. Guys should NOT have a fresh haircut. If you need a trim, have it done about a week before your portrait session.

  • Take exceptional care of your complexion for a week prior to your portrait session. DON"T use alcohol based skin products. Glycerin based soaps are great for your skin.

  • Get a good night's rest, relax and don't be nervous. Your portrait session is going to be a fun experience!
